As Election Officer the Town Clerk is the liaison to the Westchester County Board of Elections. The Town Clerk is responsible for the Towns voting machines and coordinating the activities of elections held in the Town of North Salem except school elections.
Voter Registration Forms and Applications for Absentee Ballots for all elections except school elections are available on-line (put on-line), at the Town Clerks Office or from the Westchester County Board of Elections, 25 Quarropas Street, White Plains, NY 10601.
Residents may register any time. To be eligible to vote you must be:
18 years of age on the date of election.
A Citizen of the United States.
Live at your present address for at least thirty (30) days before the election.
Not in jail or on parole for a felony conviction.
Not claim the right to vote in another jurisdiction.
The Town is always looking for Election Inspectors. Election Inspectors generally work twice a year (September Primary and November General Election) from 5:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. If you would like to become an Election Inspector please contact the Town Clerks Office for details.
