Stormwater Grant for Town of North Salem
The
Town of North Salem has been awarded $500,000 to be used for water quality improvement from Albany. The North Salem Town
Board applied for funding for projects which they outlined as most critical
to help reduce pollution and runoff from reaching lakes, rivers and
streams.
This is all part of the Town's Stormwater
Management Program which provides the basis for the town's stormwater management practices by pursuing funding and
implementing a study of impaired waters in the Town.
The Town has won other funding including $134,500 from the EPA
and $10,000 from the Hudson Valley Greenway to study and identify stormwater problems related to Peach Lake.
The Town also has an application pending for East of Hudson Funds in the
amount of $312,500. The Town's Engineering and Planning consultants have
been instrumental in writing the successful grant applications.
