- Postmarks: If mailing taxes within the last few days of the month in which due, make sure that you witness a timely and valid postmark affixed to the envelope. Postage meter, i.e. Pitney Bowes, and foreign postmarks are not acceptable. U.S. Postal Service, Airborne Express, UPS and Fed Ex are the only acceptable postmarks. Without a valid postmark, payment is deemed made on the date of receipt.
- Notice of taxes due: NY State law provides that a property owner is not relieved of the responsibility for payment of taxes or interest prescribed by law despite the failure to receive a notice of such taxes due.
- Tax payment receipts: Receipts for tax payment will be furnished upon request.
